Save the date! I’m very excited to let you know that Bexley Council has given me permission to host a yogathon in Longlands Park in Sidcup, on the morning of Saturday the 19th of June.
The yogathon, timed to celebrate the Summer Solstice, will be in aid of Bexley Women’s Aid. Last year in our online Summer Solstice Yogathon we raised a whopping £1,450, it would be amazing if we could raise anywhere near that amount again.
Lockdown has been a difficult and worrying time for everyone – but particularly so for women and children living with abuse.
Refuges have always been underfunded and austerity cut their funding further, so that now when the need for them has risen our help is vital.
This Yogathon will be accessible, meaning you don’t have to have any particular athletic ability to take part. I will be demonstrating various example sequences, including chair sun salutes. You could follow along with me, modify or use a sequence of your own.
Though we may be making different shapes, we will be moving and breathing together. You can choose to salute the sun, salute the moon, use chair variations, in fact, any variation of any yoga salute will be very much welcomed.
Following an hour and 15 minutes of moving salutation sequences, I will lead you through a balancing breath practice to set you up for the rest of your weekend.
The details are:
